Case Study

Teresa delivers her delicious cakes

Teresa Weir organised a cake delivery fundraiser during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November 2016 after losing her mum to pancreatic cancer in August 2015.

She said ‘it was not a disease I had ever really heard about until then and I was shocked and appalled to learn of the terrible survival rates. I vowed I would raise money in some way in her memory to try to help others and as baking cakes is my favourite hobby this seemed to fit the bill!’

Teresa managed to raise over £700 from her fundraising efforts and said ‘it was hard work for a few days and a really busy delivery day but it was great fun. I was able to raise awareness and people were very generous. I plan to do it all again this year!’ We look forward to seeing Teresa’s fabulous cakes again during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in 2017.
